Mining sites
The West of France (Pays de la Loire and Bretagne regions) is one of the main contributor to the national production of uranium with more than 15 000 tons of uranium extracted. This mining has stopped more than 20 years ago, leaving behind several material with significant radioactivity.
POLLUSOLS is focusing on two sites : La Commanderie and Rophin, both located on the watershed of the Loire and registered in the Zone Atelier "Territoires Uranifères" (ZATU).
